Beniteau Stellantis Update
From the 2022 Martin Luther King Day edition of the Detroit People's Platform NEWS.
In December, the City of Detroit hosted the annual Stellantis/FCA Community Benefits Agreement update.
During the meeting Stellantis reps claimed that “The odor issue at the site, which we’re working to address, is not a health risk, and this is what we’ve determined through modeling that we’ve done.” In addition to the strong odors residents have reported headaches, burning eyes and throats. Their experience directly contradict this dismissal which is based on models rather than actual data. This is unacceptable.
EGLE will host a public hearing on Jan. 27th to address enforcement due to the violations.
