Participatory Budgeting

Participatory budgeting is the process of residents of a specific community coming up with proposals and then voting on how a certain set of taxpayer dollars should be spent in their own community. This is a strategy to redefine what public budgeting in a democracy looks like and give Detroit communities the power to decide how our own taxpayer money is spent.
